Learning Goals

Join us to learn about and experience a process of Compassionate Response.

The learning goals are to initiate greater flow personally, professionally, individually, and collectively as we bring awareness to how we respond to life’s challenges and opportunities, particularly around trauma.

We are human beings of light with expansive hearts.

Setup

We are hosted in this event by John Wilson of Online Events UK and his technical support team. John has built a world-wide network of helping professionals who come together for webinars on topics of interest. Our seminar is the last event in a day of presentations focusing on trauma.

On the Day

We open with a brief, formal welcoming ceremony, setting our intentions for our work together.

Then, in an interview with John, I orient the group to the four steps below of the Compassionate Response practice:

  1. I give myself permission to feel compassion/be compassionate
  2. I notice my distance from the suffering
  3. I observe what draws my attention
  4. I sense what is happening in my heart as energy

Next we break into a brief partner exercise working with the first step. Your partner may be an old acquaintance from the RoseLight community, or someone you’ve just met in this seminar.

You and your partner go into a private online room, able to see one another’s faces and hear one another’s voices; the larger group are not able to see or hear you. After, you rejoin the larger group for discussion about the first step. Then we break out again into private meeting spaces with new partners for the second step, and so on, through all four steps.

We close with a brief, formal ceremony of thanks and acknowledgement.

Preparation

Please bring:

  • Commitment to confidentiality for any material shared in the workshop, to help create a bounded, safe space for our work together
  • Issues you are working on around trauma, either personal or professional, that you would like to bring to a Compassionate Response practice with other seminar participants from various backgrounds and levels of education and experience
  • An iPhone or other device with a timer you can work easily during the exercises
  • Headphones that can plug into your computer (this is important to keep the audio quality as high as possible and background noise reduced so everyone can hear and participate better, thank you)
  • Something in which to take notes (journal, laptop, etc.)
  • Any questions you would like to bring to me and the group via the chat room
  • Please consider whether you are willing to be filmed in the larger group, time permitting, when/if we ask for a volunteer (the partner exercises will not be filmed, and will remain private to you and your partners)
  • Please feel free to bring or invite others if you know people who would be interested and could benefit from this work
  • If you have studied RoseLight’s Building the Golden Body™ work , you may enjoy running those energies during the seminar, quietly and internally, to explore consciousness
